Gundega lives in Rīga. She is a widow. Gundega’s husband was a furniture restorer. Gundega is reading a Japanese book about order, and she wants to tidy the house. The attic is a mess – there are her husband’s instruments and many other things. In the attic Gundega finds an old chair. It’s beautiful, but broken. Gundega wants to restore it. She calls a furniture restorer, Viktor. Gundega will take the chair to him on Wednesday. Gundega asks for the address, but she is unfamiliar with such a street. Viktor works in Daugavpils.
