Odums’ grandmother says: Today is my birthday. My daughter, her husband, my grandson and I are eating cake in the garden. It’s tasty! Just like my mother’s recipe. She was a popular pastry chef. We lived in Rēzekne in my childhood. During World War II we emigrated – first to Germany, then to the USA. My daughter is a veterinarian and that’s why my grandson works in a zoo. He wanted this – to be a tiger keeper! Such a dangerous job. Why not a painter like his father… Now he is learning Latgalian and asks much about our family history. It makes me happy!
